SEED STARTER TRAYS, PLANT TAGS & CAMP WATER MISTER
[ ] Degradable Peat Pots
[ ] Weatherproof Marker
[ ] Fine Brass Water Mister
- Degradable Peat Pots: the owner's spec. They break down in soil, so seedlings can go in the ground pot and all. Check the maker's directions for breaking the top edge so roots can escape.
- Weatherproof Marker: pick one rated for outdoor use and test it, since some inks fade in sun and rain.
- Fine Brass Water Mister: a refillable sprayer for gentle water. Brass is durable, but rinse it out to stop mineral buildup.
- Label everything. Write the plant and date on the tag with the weatherproof marker so you know what is growing and when you sowed it.
- Water gently. Mist so the seeds do not wash out, and do not let the soil stay soggy. Standing water can cause mold and rot.
- Keep seeds and chemicals away from kids and pets. Some seeds are treated or are harmful if eaten. Read the packet.
Gear types only.
- Degradable peat pots or seed starter trays
- Weatherproof plant tags and marker
- Fine-mist spray bottle
- Wild Dirt stickers for your gear box and seed kit (stickers category)
Rules on seeds, soil and plants differ by area. Some states limit moving plants, soil or certain invasive species, and parks do not allow you to plant anything. Check current local rules with your state agriculture department or the land manager. For camp-grown plants, never plant in a park or forest without permission.
Plant a seed, label it and watch it grow. Built by explorers, for patient things.
