How to Get There
Anchored by Marquette, Escanaba, and Sault Ste. Marie, most parks are accessible via US-2 or M-28.
Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park: About 1.5 hours from Marquette.
Tahquamenon Falls State Park: 1 hour from Sault Ste. Marie.
Fayette Historic State Park: 1 hour south of Escanaba.
Nearest airports: Sawyer International (MQT), Delta County (ESC), and Chippewa County (CIU).
Know Before You Go
Black flies and mosquitoes are intense in summer—bring repellent.
Winters are extreme; check road closures.
Cell service is spotty in remote areas.
